Song
“Get Back” is a song by the English group The Beatles. This song was released on the album Let it be in 1969. The song is about a girl and a boy who left their family home. Through this song, they are asked to get back home. (Hence the title “Get back”).
Group
If we had to define this type of music, we could say that it was more or less a pop group because the famous British band wanted to create a new musical style which would sound typically British.
Unfortunately, two out of four members of the group are dead now… but the Beatles are more than ever one of the most famous bands of the 20th century, no doubts about it.

Berry and Little Richard among others. Indeed, they did confess several times that Rock’n’roll music had a great influence on their way of playing. They essentially focused on melody and harmony in their songs.
One cannot talk about this group without mentioning their dress code and hairstyle which became basic at the time... and still are nowadays we must confess! Have a look at this picture to get a glimpse of the time...
Times
A
s you may remember, the song itself dealt with two persons who leave their family home. The song ALSO dealt with the immigration of the decade. Indeed, don't forget that at the time, when the song was released, the English had trouble finding work. That's why they emigrated.
The 60s was definitely the time of Revolution, time of Pop Rock music and the Beatlemania. Indeed, the teenagers went clearly mad about the Beatles: for each concert, many girls immediately fainted when they saw them. They were uncontrollable (as you can see on the picture above!).

Cream was a rock band gathering Eric Clapton (guitar), Jack Bruce (bass) and Ginger Baker (drums). The three musicians were already quite famous when they decided to play together so Cream is considered as one of the first "Supergroup". Their music is a mix of hard rock and blues, and they popularized the use of the wah wah pedal during their shows where improvised tunes could last 20 minutes. They released 4 records between 1966 and 1969. At this time they split, although they lately performed together for special shows.Times
In 1965/69, people born after the second world war reach their twenties. They were eager to discover new ways of life and to give up their parents' old manners. Influenced by american hippies and the subculture, they gathered in communities (social groups with extremely liberal rules), listened to psychedelic music and explored alternatives states of mind... They were pacifists.
