"The harder they come" de Jimmy Cliff
Song

"The harder they come "is a song by the English singer Jimmy Cliff. This song was released on the album The harder they come in 1972. The song deals with Jimmy cliff's fight for freedom (hence the title "The harder they come").

Singer

Jimmy cliff was born on first April 1948 in Jamaica. He is a very famous reggae singer .His first single is "hard road "in 1967. And the song "The harder they come" made him internationally known.

If we had to define this type of music, we could say that it was more reggae music because: in this song there are instruments OF reggae (battery, guitar, guitar bass) and the rhythm is definitely reggae style!

Actually, Jimmy cliff whose real name is James Chambers is one of the greatest reggae singers (artists) who started singing in 1963.

The song is taken from the film directed by "Perry Hanzel" .This film speaks of a young man who goes to Kingston to make money.

One cannot talk about this singer without mentioning his dress code and hairstyle which became basic at the time ... but are dated now we must confess ! have a look at this picture to get a glimpse of the time...NO COMMENT!

Times

The film included well known songs such as the title track "you can get it if you really want", "Many rivers to cross" and "pressure drop". Don't forget that at that time the UK suffered from the industrial crisis and Jamaica was still expensing hard times (poverty, hays of government, ETC).

We do hope that this article was interesting and not too boring and that from now on you are DEFINITELY a great fan of Jimmy Cliff!!!!!

And don't forgot: UK ROCKS, that's for sure!!
