The Police - Message in a bottle

Song

'' Message a in a bottle '' is a song by the English group The Police .

This song was released on the album Regatta in 1979 .

The song is about a castaway on an imaginary island , who sends a message to a bottle ( hence the title '' Message in a Bottle '') to find the true love .

One year later , he feels that he doesn't need love anymore .

Then he sees '' hundreds of billions of bottles '' running around on the beach and he realizes that there are many persons like him in the world .

Group

The Police was a band gathering (Ex-member Henry Padovani) Andy Sumers (guitar) , Sting (bass) , Stewart Copeland ( drums) .

The 3 musicians were already working together when they decided to work on this album .

This song was a hit .

If we had to give you clues about this type of music , we could say that it was ROCk , New Wave  and Reggae  music!

Unfortunately, the band broke up in 1984 .

Actually , At the live Earth concert in July DATE the group reformed for the occasion and played ''Message in a Bottle'' with the rapper Kanye West !

One cannot talk about this group without mentionning their dress code(and hair style) which became basics at the time ... and are dated now we must confess ! Have a look at this picture to get a glimpse of the time

Times

As you may remember, the song itself belonged to the  New Wave trend. The New Wave was elaborated by numerous British and American artists, and became popular through the decade, particularly in the eighties.

Did you know that ???

HENRY PADOVANI was a French ex-member of the group ''The Police''.

He was born in Bastia in Corsica ( France) , he is a writer, composer and French guitarist , who was lucky enough to belong to the band we are talking about : ''The Police'' .

He started playing the guitar at the age of 14 years old !!!

And don't forget : UK rocks that's for sure !
